Tips on how to read Alto Clef - For Violists

The above image shows the evolution of the Alto, or "C" clef. It's clear to see why it was, and still is, referred to as the C clef. Now the Alto Clef looks like this:

To the right you'll see all of the notes on the staff in Alto Clef. Learn to memorize whether the notes are on LINES or SPACES.
